Feldman is also our resident style expert here at Who What Wear, and she's shared everything from the basics she's relied on for years to the style mistakes she won't repeat. Today, we've tapped her to discuss the fall trends she's looking forward to wearing.
Fall is just around the corner, and normally, I'd be checking out every September Issue I could get my hands on. But who are we kidding? There is no normal. Like everything else, my fall wardrobe this year is a little different. But, as always with fall clothes, I'm still excited to wear them. With a renewed emphasis on all things comfort, I'm sharing the five fall trends I'm most excited for from luxurious velvet pieces to dress up my jeans to my new obsession with layering rings. So keep reading for everything I want to wear in the season ahead.
"Nothing is better than a yummy cashmere sweater. My go-to colors are dark neutrals like black, navy, and gray, but this year, I'm trying to add a little more color to my wardrobe. I'm thinking fuchsia, cerulean blue (for a full The Devil Wears Prada moment), and bright yellow. The colors are trendy without being risqué and will go with all of my neutral bottoms."
"Yes, my world has revolved around a revolving mix-and-match uniform of casual bottoms and tops since quarantine started, but for fall, I'm gravitating toward a matchy-matchy set. I'm seeing more of this around on Instagram, and it always looks so chic. One, it'll be so easy to get ready. Two, wearing the same color on top and bottom is flattering. Three, I can always go back to my mix and match ways with my new separates."
"I love rich fabrics for fall, and I'm super excited to see velour back on the scene. It's super cozy, it makes colors look extra vibrant, and it feels so luxurious. I think velour looks best in tops and easy bottoms, so that's what you'll find me sporting for fall."
"Normally, I'm a 'less is more person,' but lately I've been stacking and wearing as many rings as possible. I think gold is the right tone for fall, but you could totally mix metals as well. And with so many fun, well-priced options that look real, the options are limitless."
"After several seasons torturing myself over investing in a trench, I'm finally going to hit the 'buy' button. A trench is so much more than a trend, it's a real investment that will last a lifetime. I also think a trench will add some polish to my monochromatic sweatsuit."
Up next, eight forever basics that have seen me through to my 60s.
